Feature And Benefits
ZINC OXIDE reacts with H₂S to form an insoluble
precipitate of Zinc sulphide that is inert and
insoluble in water.
ZINC OXIDE is not pH dependent; it is effective at
very alkaline pH such as 11.5 – 12.5.
Product Function
ZINC OXIDE is utilized to remove sulfides resulting
from an influx of hydrogen sulphide gas or to pretreat
the active drilling fluids when influxes are
expected.
Recommended treatment
As a preventive measure, the drilling fluid should
be pre–treated with ZINC OXIDE the normal
treatment is 1.0–2.0 lb/bbl (3.0 – 6.0 kg/m³).
Subsequent doses will depend on the sulfide
detected. (1.0 ppb of Zinc oxide per 600 mg/l of
sulfides). Use a garret Gas train with proper
dragger tubes to detect the sulphide content.
Shipping References
Transportation of ZINC OXIDE is not restricted any
regulatory agency.
