Feature And Benefits
ZINC CARBONATE reacts with H2S to form an insoluble precipitate that has a low solubility in water.
Product Function
ZINC CARBONATE is utilized to remove sulfides resulting from an influx of hydrogen sulphide gas or to pre-treat the active drilling fluids when influxes are expected.
Recommended treatment
As a preventive measure, the drilling fluid should be pre–treated with ZINC CARBONATE the normal treatment is 1.0–3.0 lb/bbl (2.8 – 8.4 kg/m³) ZINC CARBONATE is only effective at pH range greater than 9.0. The pH should be maintained by additions of caustic soda and / or lime. NOTE: As a rule of thumb, 1.0 lbs/bbl (2.8 kgs/m³) of ZINC CARBONATE will normally scavenge 500 ppm hydrogen sulphide.
Shipping References
Transportation of ZINC CARBONATE is not restricted any regulatory agency.
