Feature And Benefits
WYOMING–BENTONITE has a high capacity for water and therefore provides high viscosity and low fluid loss values with minimal clay content. WYOMING–BENTONITE contributes to good hole conditions by building a thin, high quality, lubricious filter cake.
Product Function
WYOMING–BENTONITE is used to provide viscosity and filtration control to water base drilling fluids. WYOMING–BENTONITE promotes hole stability in unconsolidated formations.
Recommended treatment
For best results it should be pre–hydrated in fresh water with low hardness. Chloride salts exceeding 8000 ppm will restrict the yield of the clay and should not be present in the make up water or added until the clay has yielded fully in fresh water. Add in concentration of 4–25 lbs/bbl (11.4–71.3 kgs/m3) to active system.
