TRUBLACK™ seals and bridges the pores and micro-fractures to create an effective barrier that prevents destabilizing pressure transmission into the shale. It is blended to achieve an optimal particle size distribution that helps control HTHP filtrate loss. TRUBLACK™ strengthens the borehole and helps creating a thin filter cake formation. Help reduces friction and sliding resistance while drilling.

TRUBLACK™ can be mixed directly in mud systems. Treatments are best accomplished by adding the product directly to the suction tank; however, the product can be added as a chemical pre-mix when necessary. Concentrations of 1-3% are normally sufficient mud treatment for borehole stability; rheology control and HPHT filtrate reduction. A higher concentration up to 5% v/v can be used in highly reactive shales. Pilot tested is recommended to see the effect on rheology.
