Feature And Benefits
POTASSIUM CHLORIDE is an economic source of potassium ions which restrict the hydration or smectite clays.
POTASSIUM CHLORIDE will inhibit swelling shales and prevent the formulation of sticky drilled cuttings.
Product Function
POTASSIUM CHLORIDE is used in drilling fluids to aid in the stabilization of shales and to control swelling clays
Recommended treatment
The amount of POTASSIUM CHLORIDE needed to inhibit a shale will depend on the shale sensitivity to water. A minimum effective concentration is 3% by weight (10.5 ppb).
Shipping References
Transportation of POTASSIUM CHLORIDE is not restricted by any regulatory agency.
