Feature And Benefits
POLYTROL HT is designed to provide fluid loss control in low and high density fluids with minimal effect in rheology. It is effective in fresh water and salt brines. Exhibits thermal stability to temperatures in excess of 190⁰ C (375⁰F).
Product Function
POLYTROL HT reacts with clay particles to form a thin, flexible filter cake along the well bore, thereby reducing fluid loss to the formation. It is thermally stable to temperatures in excess of 375°F. It reduces gel strengths and yield point with little effect on the plastic viscosity. It also improves the fluids carrying capacity, helps reduce friction and contributes to the inhibition/encapsulation of drilled solids. It is extremely effective at controlling fluid loss in high density drilling fluids in a high temperature environment. Although POLYTROL™ HT is most commonly used in fresh water systems, it can also be used in brackish or seawater systems.
Recommended treatment
Treatment rates for POLYTROL HT are normally in the range of 1.5–8.6 kgs/m³ (0.5.0–3.0 lbs/bbl) and will be dependent upon concentration of the solids in the drilling fluid. Hardness due to calcium and magnesium should be maintained at less than 400 ppm.
Shipping References
Transportation of POLYTROL HT is not restricted by any regulatory agency.
