POLYLOSE 140

POLYLOSE™ 140 is non – fermenting pregeletinised modified starch. It is stable to higher temperature than conventional drilling starches. It synergies with Xanthan gum to give excellent low shear Rheology and enables lower quantities of the gum to be used.

Feature And Benefits
POLYLOSE™ 140 acts as a colloidal blocking particle to prevent water movement. This process restricts the swelling and dispersion of cuttings, and helps to reduce ultra fine solids build up. POLYLOSE™ 140 has minimal effect on viscosity and low fluid loss values can be attained without affecting drilling rates and solids removal efficiency. POLYLOSE™ 140 is non–damaging to formations and can be utilized in drilling, workover, and completion fluids. POLYLOSE™ 140 is effective at controlling fluid loss in both weighted and low solids drilling fluids over wide pH ranges. POLYLOSE™ 140 shows stability in laboratory tests at 284⁰F (140⁰C) and has been used effectively in the field at 300⁰F (148⁰C).
Product Function
POLYLOSE™ 140 maintains filtration control in all types of water base drilling and completion fluids, including those which contain high concentrations of monovalent and multivalent cations.
Recommended treatment
POLYLOSE™ 140 concentration of 1.5-2.5% is the normal range of treatment. Mix POLYLOSE™ 140 through hopper at a rate of 5 to 10 minutes every 25 kgs sack.
