Feature And Benefits
MONEX D bentonite extender is effective in all types of weighted or unweighted fresh water muds. It selectively flocculates low yield solids and can be used for interim viscosity increases.
MONEX D improves primary solids removal as it encapsulates drill solids (piggyback) to larger sizes.
MONEX D is for fresh water systems but still functions well in water with chloride levels up to 10,000 ppm.
Product Function
MONEX D is used to improve rheological properties of the bentonite slurries. Higher viscosity with less bentonite concentrations is the primary benefit of this product.
Recommended treatment
MONEX D dosage range is 1 – 2 lbs per 100 barrels (0.285 – 0.572 kg/10 m³). Determine the optimum amount by pilot testing the
bentonite that is on – site.
Approximately add 2 pounds of MONEX D for every 5–8 sacks of bentonite addition. For best performance, maintain the calcium level of the make–up water between 80 – 120 ppm by
treating it with soda ash. After the calcium has been reduced, the pH can be increased up to 10.5 with caustic soda. When further suspension is needed for logging activities, add 2–3 lbs of MONEX D into every 100 barrels of active mud.
Shipping References
Transportation of MONEX D is not restricted by any regulatory agency.
