MICRODENSE®

MICRODENSE is micronized ilmenite or FeTiO₃. It can be used on its own, with barite, Micromax or other weight materials. It enables the production of low Rheology fluids for good ECD management and low sag. It is easily soluble in oilfield acids. MicroDense is milled to a D50 of 5µ and a D90 <15µ.

Feature And Benefits
MicroDense is approximately 10% denser and over 60% harder than barite but with significantly lower abrasiveness than barite or hematite. These properties provide benefits enabling the use of MicroDense to provide density with better Sag control and ECO management.
Product Function
MICRODENSE will settle around 8 times slower than Barite. ECD Management: The small particle size, shape and inertness of MicroDense produces fluids with significantly lower rheologies. Formation Damage Mitigation: MicroDense can be easier flow back through the formation. It is also soluble in oilfield acids such as HCl, Organic acids and Chelating agents. It is compatible with all fluid systems and additives including other weighting materials. Can supplement to lower the use of other weighting materials such as Barite with significantly improved rheology, Sag & ECD. MICRODENSE is a great option to densify fluids on restricted ECD applications.
