Feature And Benefits
Hematite Powder is applicable in all types of drilling fluids, including freshwater, seawater and oil-base mud. Hematite Powder is ground to such a particle size that less than 1.5% wt will be more than 75 micro; less than 15% wt will be less than 6 micron and less than 15% wt will be high than 45 micro at a specific gravity of 5.05. Fluids weighted with Hematite contain fewer solids by volume than those weighted with barite, making higher mud weights possible.
Product Function
Hematite Powder can be used to increase the density of all drilling and completion fluids to 25 lb/gal (3.0 SG).It is especially useful in high-density kill fluids.
Recommended treatment
The quantity of Hematite required can be calculated using the following formula: Hematite, Lb/bbL = 1,750(W2-W1)/41.66-W2 Where: W1=Initial mud weight in lb/gal W2=Desired mud weight in lb/gal Hematite, Kg/m3 = 5,000 (W2 – W1)/5.05 - W2 Where: W1=Initial mud weight in SG W2=Desired mud weight in SG
Shipping References
Transportation of Hematite Powder is not restricted by any regulatory agency.
