Feature And Benefits
HEC is non–damaging and effective as a viscosifier to 100˚C (212 ˚F). HEC is tolerant to salt contaminants and is stable over a broad pH range. HEC is shear thinning, has low gel strengths and can be mixed rapidly when preparing viscosity sweeps for cleaning large diameter surface holes.
Product Function
The principal use of HEC is the attainment of viscosity in drilling, completion and work over fluids. Fluids viscosified with HEC will exhibit high apparent viscosity, high yield point and low fragile gel strengths.
Recommended treatment
Concentrations of 1.0–2.0 lbs/bbl (2.8–5.6 kgs/m³) are required to provide viscosity in circulating systems. Higher concentrations are required when utilizing high viscosity sweeps.
Shipping References
Transportation of HEC is not restricted by any regulatory agency
Handling Recommendations
Utilize normal precautions for employee protection when handling chemical products. Utilize appropriate respirator, gloves, goggles and apron. Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for this product prior to use.
Standard Packing
HEC is packaged in 25 kgs multiwall paper sack.
