Feature And Benefits
GILSONITE stabilizes shale formations while reducing torque and drag. GILSONITE helps control HTHP fluid loss by producing a thin, strong compressible wall cake. GILSONITE is stable to temperatures in excess of 350⁰F (177⁰C). GILSONITE is equally effective in both fresh water and sea water drilling fluids.
Product Function
GILSONITE is primarily utilized as a shale stabilizer in water base drilling fluids.
Recommended treatment
GILSONITE is normally added in concentrations of 2–4 lbs/bbl (5.7–11.4 kgs/m³) to stabilize troublesome shales.
Shipping References
Transportation of GILSONITE is not restricted by any regulatory agency.
