Feature And Benefits
DMS aggregates mud solids into larger particles, reducing solids carry over into porous zones during initial formation of filter cake. Inter particle forces are reduced through reorientation of particles, thereby lowering gel strengths and yield points.
It is compatible with all water base drilling fluid additives and is tolerant to salt, anhydrite or cement contamination.
It will not degrade at any temperature anticipated in drilling. Exhibits thermal stability in excess of 400 ˚F.
It is non–damaging to equipment and poses no health risk in normal handling.
It lubricates for reduced bit-balling and less differential sticking of drill pipe.
Product Function
DMS is a chemically stable surfactant and simplifies the control of viscosity and gels. It has high tolerance to clay solids with minimum effect to viscosity.
Recommended treatment
Stabilizing filtration rates will require treatments ranging from 80 – 350 L per 20 m3 of mud.
Stabilizing flow properties of water-base mud, treatments will range from 15 to 250 L per 20 m3. Stabilizing drilling fluids at high temperature conditions will require dosages in the range of 100 to 400 L per 20 m3 of mud.
The concentration of DMS™required to stabilize oil in water emulsions is in the range of 0.5– 2.0% and is dependent upon the amount and properties of the oil to be emulsified.
