DESCALER RS can be used for scale removal in either production or downhole equipment, or for deposits from the near wellbore area. DESCALER RS will eliminate costly pulling operations and physical descaling of pumps and tubing.

DESCALER RS is a scale dissolving chemical especially developed for the removal of Barium and Strontium scales, that are insoluble in conventional solvents or mineral acids.

DESCALER RS acts by softening or dissolving Barium and Strontium scales. The rate of reaction depends on the contact time, agitation or circulation, temperature and product dosage rate. For optimum scale dissolution in downhole application, some means of agitation such as circulation or periodically pumping the product back and forth through the scaled zone will reduce the time required for deposit removal. A minimum contact time of 24 hours is recommended. Treatment levels are dependent upon quantity of scale to be removed. Product efficiency is improved when diluted to 30% with freshwater, sea water or potassium chloride brine. Check the solution pH after dilution. If the pH is less than 11.0, increase with addition of potassium hydroxide.

Regulatory agencies classify DESCALER RS as an irritants material (UN 1813) for transportation.

DESCALER RS, being a strong alkaline solution will cause severe burns, when handling or mixing the product. Chemical safety goggles with plastic or rubber frames equipped with resistant glass or plastic lenses should be worn. Plastic face shields should be worn in addition to the goggles. In addition it is recommended to use resistant gloves, apron, respirator and safety shoes. Please consult the product material safety data sheet (MSDS) prior to use.
