BIOTREAT EZ is a highly efficient brown liquid catalyst that is used to remove starch and xanthan gum polymers in the mud cake and dress up the well bore in preparation of HCl acid wash or any acid treatment. BIOTREAT EZ is effective in fluids ranging from pH 5 – 9, applicable at temperatures up to 250 ⁰F. BIOTREAT EZ is stable with mild acid such as acetic acid or formic acid to remove calcium carbonate bridging material as well as polymer residue in a single step.

Use BIOTREAT EZ to pre–flush the horizontal hole and keep it in to soak until ready for acid treatments. It leaves no residues so no need to flow it back. Proceed to pump acid by bull heading or by coil tubing and flow back well to clean up as usual. For maximum efficiency, use 3% BIOTREAT EZ of the volume of the horizontal hole in brine, plus 20–50% excess to compensate for attrition during pumping and for dead volume in the mud tanks.
