BENTONITE (API) has a high capacity for water and therefore provides high viscosity and low fluid loss values with minimal clay content. BENTONITE (API) contributes to good hole conditions by building a thin, high quality filter cake.

BENTONITE (API) is utilized to provide the base viscosity and filtration control to water base drilling fluids.

For best results BENTONITE (API) should be pre–hydrated in fresh water with low hardness. Chloride salts will restrict the yield of the clay and should not be present in the make up water or added until the clay has yielded fully in fresh water. A concentration of 22.5 lbs/bbl (64 kgs/m³) in fresh water at full yield will give a minimum viscosity of 15 centipoise and a maximum fluid loss of 15 cc.

Transportation of BENTONITE (API) is not restricted by any regulatory agency.

Utilize normal precautions for employee protection when handling chemical products. Utilize appropriate respirator, gloves, goggles and apron. Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for this product prior to use.

BENTONITE (API) is packaged in 25 kgs multiwall paper sack or 1000 kgs big bag.
