Feature And Benefits
AMIFILM produces a protective cationic film to prevent corrosion of tubular goods.
AMIFILM will provide corrosion protection to drill pipe exposed to drilling fluids contaminated with hydrogen sulphide, carbon dioxide or oxygen.
AMIFILM unlike anodic passivators will not promote corrosion, if applied in sufficient quantities.
Product Function
AMIFILM is recommended as a primary corrosion inhibitor to coat the inside and outside of drill pipe, where water base drilling fluids are utilized.
AMIFILM will provide corrosion protection when drilling with low or high solids fluids as well as in air, mist and foam drilling operations.
Recommended treatment
AMIFILM™ is generally applied to the drill string in batch treatments. A batch will consist of 8–15% by volume AMIFILM in mineral oil, diesel fuel or sweet crude oil. The volume and frequency of the treatment is dependent upon the severity of corrosion.
Severe corrosion would require 1.5 gallons of AMIFILM / oil mixture per 1000 feet of drill pipe. Corrosion rates should be monitored with corrosion coupons installed in the drill pipe to determine AMIFILM treatment requirements.
Shipping References
Regulatory agencies classify AMIFILM as a combustible liquid (UN 1993) for transportation.
